Daikombat launch

Hello everyone,

I am pleased to share a recent hobby project with you all. It's a game reminiscent of the classic Doom, and I'm excited to present it.

What is Daikombat?

Daikombat is a thrilling blend of two legendary games: Doom and Mortal Kombat. This fast-paced online multiplayer game aims to bring back the nostalgic essence of old-school shooters while adding a unique twist. If you loved the intense action of Doom, you'll feel right at home in Daikombat. 

Key Features

• Simple yet Fast-Paced Gameplay: Jump right into the action with quick matches. The game is designed for short, intense bursts of gameplay. Just join the game, frag some players, die, repeat.
• Online Multiplayer: Engage in exciting battles with players from around the world. The game's mechanics are easy to pick up, ensuring that both newcomers and seasoned gamers can enjoy it.
• In-Game Chat: Communicate with other players in real-time using the built-in chat feature. Coordinate strategies, taunt your opponents, or just have fun chatting with friends.
• Self-Hosted Servers: While the official server is located in Germany, you can also set up your own servers. This allows for greater flexibility and the opportunity to play with specific groups of friends or in different regions.
• Open-Source: Daikombat is open-source, meaning the community can contribute to its development. Check out the source code, suggest improvements, or even create your own mods.
• Basic Power-Ups: Enhance your gameplay with basic power-ups scattered throughout the maps. These power-ups can give you an edge over your opponents and add an extra layer of strategy to the game.
• Melee Combat: In addition to shooting, you can also punch players. Get up close and personal to deliver a satisfying melee attack and add another dimension to your combat tactics.

Technical Details

• Server Location: The server is physically located in Germany, ensuring optimal performance for players in Europe. While players from other regions can join, the game will play best in Europe due to latency considerations.
• Official Server Pin-Code: To join the official server, use the pin-code 7777.

What’s Next?

I’m constantly working on improving Daikombat and adding new content. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the exciting features coming soon:

• Leg Kicking Opponents: Introduce a new melee attack by kicking your opponents. This feature will add more variety and strategy to close-quarters combat.
• Team Death-Match: A new game mode where you can team up with friends and battle against other teams. Coordinate with your team, devise strategies, and dominate the battlefield together.
• Invisibility Power-Up: Gain a tactical advantage with the new invisibility power-up. Sneak up on your enemies and take them by surprise, adding an element of stealth to your gameplay.

Credits

The game is essentially a fork of a different game called Ultra Nightmare but with an online death-match mode.
